About Us

We’re kind of a big dill…

Lazy Susan Meal Prep is a local meal prep service located right here in Woodstock, Georgia. From the start, our goal has always been to provide healthy and flavorful meal options to fit the busy lives of our friends and neighbors.

Lead by professional chef Crystal Hood, our tight-knit team is passionate about having fun and eating healthy. Our commercial kitchen is a high-energy workplace, filled with love and laughter as we work together to cook and package homemade meals that nourish the body and soul.

Crystal grew up in a home where health and wellness were top priorities. Her parents opened a health food store in the North Georgia mountains in the late ’80s (before it was cool, LOL), where she watched them lead so many people on a path of healthy living.

It was inspiring to say the least. She grew up eating organic, whole, nutrient-dense foods, and she knew she wanted to follow in their footsteps. With a talent was in culinary arts, Crystal has cooked professionally for over 15 years.

“I came up with the idea of Lazy Susan while living in Asheville, North Carolina. I had this vision of bringing families back around the table to eat a healthy meal together. I remember growing up how we always sat at the dinner table as a family and how important that was.”

When Crystal moved with her son to Woodstock, Georgia to be closer to family, she arrived with only about $40 in her bank account. In less than two weeks, she was working two jobs and finding her place in this new community. Once she was back on her feet, she decided to join a gym, where she saw an immediate need for a healthy, delicious meal prep service.

Applying her knowledge of nutrition and culinary arts, Crystal began cooking for fellow gym friends who had expressed a need for help with weekly meal prep.

“Finding myself in a financial need, I decided to make a little extra money doing just that. I had about ten clients I prepared meals for every week with a rotating menu of 3 lunches and 3 dinners. It was great side money, but I was still finding myself drowning in bills. It was all work and no play.”

But it didn’t take long for the word to get out. Business increased so rapidly that Crystal decided to quit two jobs and follow her true passion at Lazy Susan.

Today, you’ll find her in the kitchen or out and about making deliveries, pouring every ounce of her heart and soul into delicious, healthy food that brings people together and makes life a little easier.
